The Material-Wave Interactions (MWI) Laboratories, LLC is a spin-off company from Arizona State University (ASU). We were in business as a research laboratory for over seven years within ASU and have been a growing independent business since 2010.
The business has obtained exclusive rights for two of the research patents utilized in our systems: the revolutionary Gaussian Beam and Linearly Polarize Resonate Loop Technologies.
We are the premier provider of "Non-Destructive" In-Process Quality Control (QC) and Laboratory Quality Assurance (QA) Radio Frequency (RF) testing services, and systems that we custom design and fabricate using Gaussian Beam Technology which we sell, rent or lease. These devices are used to measure the anisotropic / dielectric / magnetic material properties including; honeycomb, resistive films, radome materials and inspect for defects such as voids, faulty repairs or RF leakage. Our Gaussian Beam antennas have distinct advantages over standard horns. Their planar-wave, broadband, narrow beam (without focus points) spot sizes, have greater dynamic ranges when used in insertion loss, reflection loss, composite repair and RCS applications.
The MWI Laboratory’s strength comes from its exclusive right to the patented intellectual property that was developed at ASU by its co-founders, who have more than 25 years of experience in design, development, and implementation of composite materials for the military aerospace industry.
The majority of our customers are from the aerospace industry such as: Boeing, Northrop Grumman, General Atomics, General Dynamics, Raytheon, AFRL, L3, Pratt & Whitney, and Rock West. We also provide services in the cell phone, computer circuit board, printed circuit, alternative energy, medical, and food packaging industries.
